Sunday Dear Readers #10

I saw a Dear Readers style letter over at another blog and decided that it was a great concept that I could use for a weekly MEME so here we go the Sunday Dear Readers. You can participate at your blog easy as pie. Just make a post to your readers on Sundays and drop us a link back.

I am feeling overwhelmed today my dear readers. Do you ever get that feeling? I have to start reading a new book I want to of course but it is just one on the list of things to do I have 11 letters to write (oi vey) and several postcards as well. I need to finish typing something on my writing blog I got behind on that ack.

Saw some family I had not seen in a long time yesterday THAT was interesting. I will go into more details about it later. I guess it could have been worse, but it also could have been better No big surprise my Dad was not there. My issue from last week is still front and center, not a word has been said to me via email from the swap site and my account is still frozen.

I sent them a nicely worded email today so we will see if I get a reply, sadly at this point I am not holding my breath I am starting to think things will go the way that they went for some other people whom I have read bad stories for. That is unfortunate because I have given a lot to that site. I can’t call it yet of course, so we will see. I hope I am wrong.

Sincerly,

Saturday Nine #12

1. Did you ever think that you'd be a star? If yes, doing what? Don't most young people? Yes I did. And I thought I would be an actress. I still am one. Just not "famous".

2. Tell us about the last time you had a romantic dinner. It has been a while but it was for my 3 year wedding anniversary. My husband and I had steak dinner in bed by candle light and than apple juice in champagne flutes. Neither of us like Champagne much so Apple juice was a good choice.

3. Tell us about your worst job interview. I had been working a weekend at festival and than could not fall asleep. I did my best but I am fairly sure I did not make a good impression with the very dark circles under my eyes.

4. Tell us about your stupidest date. Worst date ever was when a date took me to a gaming shop for a Magic the Gathering tournie. I do not mind the game..but was not my idea of a date.

5. How much in common do you think you should have with a romantic partner? I think you should have enough in common to get along well and have things you can do together. But you also need to have seperate interests to keep things interesting and from getting to clingy.

6. Tell us about a favorite meme that you loved but no longer posts. I liked 10 on Tuesday but the owner has not posted in a two weeks so I removed that from my rotation. There were some Wednesday Meme's I loved but no longer post either.

7. How did you get into blogging? I was looking for an outlet and a place to put book reviews initialy and so it started...

8. Do you share all your fantasies with a significant other? No not all of them. But most of them.

9. What change in your life would you like to happen this year? I would like to get over this cancer. But if that does not happen I will settle for being more financially comfortable by being able to do more freelance writing and some good stationery sales.

Saturday Six #13

1. Without looking it up, how many of the following could you correctly name off the top of your head: your state slogan, your state tree, your state flower, your state bird, your state dog, your state song, your state dance, and your state beverage? I think I can name a fair amount of them as I did a paper on things like that although it was yeaaaaarrssss ago. State Slogan is Explore Minnesota, Tree is Norway Pine , Flower is Lady Slipper, Bird is the Loon, State song is Hail Minnesot, Beverage is MILK! I had to look up Dance, Dog. We do not have a state dog and we don't have a state dance. although according to one page Square dancing was proposed as the state dance in 1992.

2. Suppose you started your own state: based on your personality, what would you want for your new state’s slogan? My own state slogan? Where History is Remembered.

3. If you had to choose one kind of animal to represent your state — mammal, fish, reptile, insect…but just one — which would you choose and which specific breed would you select?
Horse, Arabian for the breed because I find that the most noble of the horses and it is my prefference :)

4. What would be the pick for your state’s official drink? PEPSI.

5. Take the quiz: What State Are You?

You Are California

You are cutting edge and diverse. People may call you flaky, but you can't help that you have a lot going on.

In general, you are friendly and laid back. There's nothing you like better than a quiet afternoon at the beach.

You are socially progressive and open minded. Anyone is welcome into your circle of friends.

You may be a bit image conscious, but you understand that appearances matter!

THIS was very odd to me, and I have never even been to CA.

6. Go to Wikipedia and look up that state: what is its slogan and how good of a fit would it be for your new state? California's Slogan is Eureka...and I don't think it would suit my state. *lol*

Stress abound...because of a simple mistake.

I am so frustrated with my favorite swap site. I love it, I truly do I have been a member for a long time and in good standing. I have many credits built up 20 or 22 of them. Well there was a complaint made for a situation that happened completely by accident, I am not even totally convinced it happened as it was said to have but assuming it did for now it was NOT done on purpose. Nor do I think it was that big of a deal. I won’t go into to much detail now about it maybe later. *maybe* but lets just say it was blown out of proportion.

Anyways with that complaint having been done my account was frozen. Okay I respect that really, I do, I am not sure what day my account was frozen but I spotted it on Saturday, very early Sunday. I contacted the owners quickly as my site message now said to do, and they got back to me late Sunday night and cited the complaint ect and said they wanted to make CLEAR that I understood and for it not to happen again, ect. Before they re-instated my account. I properly apologized and said YES I am VERY clear and it WILL NOT under any circumstances happen again. Okay they said their piece and I said mine and I agreed to their terms and was apologetic. *IF* the situation happened as stated it was a simple mistake and not done on purpose…humans do make mistakes right?

Well I have not heard a peep about it since. Not a word. Not a we got your email we are working on it. Not a we got your email; your account will be re-instated when. Nothing. Silence on the western front. My Husband (who made the mistake if one was made) even sent off a message apologizing himself for what happened and explaining it in a bit better detail because well my details are bad lately thanks to the Chemo. Nothing. My account is still frozen solid. I had a book I needed to send out, that has now no doubt run out of time and a member will now be upset. I also have books I need to report received so that the member can get their credits, which I cannot do. And I am worried.

Than yesterday, I got an email about a new feature for Tour Guides. I was excited that I got the email because I was like FANTASTIC I volunteer for tour guiding and something new to learn and this must surely mean my account is un-frozen because I got an e-mail. Bingo and I run to my account log in… same message. Contact us…la ti da. So my account is still frozen solid. And I am worried.

Curiously I googled to see if anyone else had an issue like this. Perhaps it is standard to be slow, well the reports I saw were not very favorable. Moreover, anyone who did get their account frozen up like mine and than had silence was eventually informed their account was being closed. NOT GOOD. I have so many credits (which translate to money) and most importantly, I LOVE this site I truly do. I recommend it to everyone I know, and people I don’t know. Heck, we met with a realtor on a fluke to check out something close to us, and she commented on how much she and her Daughter love to read so I of course sent her to my favorite site! Told her it is fantastic and you can save a lot of money on it. Therefore, I am worried, that site is one of the few things I truly enjoy anymore. And now…it might be taken away because of one Mistake?

It feels good to get it off my chest, and I am hoping to be able to write a follow up that says oh whew I worried for nothing and the account is back and working just fine. However, I am not sure I can write that, I don’t know if I will be able to. I sure hope I can though because I LOVE that site I truly truly do.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programs….

10 on Tuesday #14

Another no show from the site owner. I think I am going to pull this MEME from my weekly rotation for now. :( Sad this one was Challengeing.

Heads or Tails Tuesday #22

HEADS - "Call"

Make any kind of post using any form of the word "Call"

Call, another good word. I guess what comes to mind is one of my current situations with someone over reacting to something and getting my account on my favorite book swapping site frozen. I sure wish I could CALL them out on it.

However, more than that I did reply politely and professionally to the email sent to me by the site owner and have not heard back. Not a word and my account is still frozen. So I wish I could call them about that. But I am not sure it would do any good. I might do it after the doctor if I am not to tired after that.

I know this post is a little bit short today but well today is just another extension of the not so fantastic week I have been having.

Sunday Dear Readers #9

I saw a Dear Readers style letter over at another blog and decided that it was a great concept that I could use for a weekly MEME so here we go the Sunday Dear Readers. You can participate at your blog easy as pie. Just make a post to your readers on Sundays and drop us a link back.

Dear Readers,

My Saturday was not a very good day and has only dribbled into a bad Sunday so far as well. I got some test results badly that were not very good. Although I am getting used to it. And it is part of life. I once again had a relatively sleepless day. The only thing that did go my way was I got some ink on a GC I was given.

So than to start out the rest of my Weekend I found an “oh so lovely” blog post from a friend. Now normally I don’t like to complain about friend and friendship on my blogs. I have done it once maybe twice before. However, I guess since she did it I can too.

The last months she has been pushing me away and pushing me away. I have tried to just suck it up and deal. I have explained how I feel, I admit I have occasionally been snaky but if anyone had seen some of the stuff she said to me in a “bad cycle” well I will not go into it. Let’s just say it has been very painful.

And being pushed away has been painful too. Very painful and more than I have let on. However, after a while I gave up fighting for any replies. I just kept my replies simple and to the point. Trying to keep any frustration and the like out of my replies. So as not to be the one “hurting” anyone when I have been the one getting pushed away. The last contact I had, which was several days ago everything seemed okay. She even wanted to RP, it didn’t last long but hey it seemed normal and I went with it.

Well that was the last I heard until the blog entry posted 2 hours ago. Everyone is entitled to his or her own thoughts, and everyone is entitled to do what they want to do. I will never say anything to the contrary on that. What I do disagree with is putting what was put out there, which was hurtful without talking to a person about it first. When someone thinks everything seems to be okay and than reads what was put out there….well it is a slap in the face.

Am I being vague? Yes, I am principally because I am trying to be discreet and not sling any mud while also getting my feelings out there. Sadly anyone who does an archive look on the other blog will know who she is referring to because she has used my name, with the term she used in her post in a few other posts. Nice eh?

But I long ago learned you couldn’t force yourself on anyone. You cannot force support and affection on someone who is going to keep pushing it away. I have been trying to keep myself there and perhaps its time for me not to. I have gotten hurt from it, and she admitted she has been not acting right several times. So this time I think I better learn my lesson and take my own advice. And Step back. It isn’t like the time when she was at my house literally dying on my floor and insisting I continue to let her sleep when I called the EMT’s and a darn good thing I did. Renal Failure isn’t something that can be fixed by sleep. But than again neither is depression.

I applaud anyone who wants to make themselves better and I applaud them for taking the steps they feel they should. I will not disagree with that part of the post that was put out there. I take issue when people push others away who have been there when no one else has.

But, it is give and take. Always has been. Am I getting my walking papers? Maybe. Maybe not. I have heard similar tones before more than once. I have been told; “I am walking away from you” “I don’t want to talk to you anymore” only to have the tone change when I point out once again is that what you REALLY want? Could be another one of those things.

In the end. I will once again retreat and lick my wounds. Than I will retreat deal with my own depression due to Cancer and well that will be that I guess. I said my piece to the party in a TXT (since she has been avoiding me online) and will take her own blog post at its text it may pain me but I won’t be the one to reach out this time if that is what she wants.

Sorry, for the downer this Sunday Readers, I just needed to get it off my chest.

Sincerly,
